Coos Bay Library has teamed up with Coos Head Food Co-op to provide safe, easy, and healthy recipes to create at home. Join us virtually on Zoom for this fun community event!
Monthly Event: Every Fourth Thursday!
For this month’s recipe, Little Plant Food Truck’s Alex, Paul, and Saya will be making a Black Bean Burger (from The How Not to Die Cookbook).

Black Bean Burger ingredients:
1 cup old fashioned rolled oats (bulk area)
1/2 cup walnut pieces (bulk area)
1¼ inch fresh turmeric or 1/4 tsp ground (fresh produce or bulk area)
1/2 cup chopped red onion
1/3 cup chopped mushroom
1½ cups cooked or 1 15 oz BPA free black beans
2 TBLS tahini or almond butter (bulk area)
1 TBLS ground flaxseeds (bulk area)
1 TBLS nutritional yeast (bulk area)
1 TBLS chopped fresh parsley or dried ( fresh produce or bulk area)
2 tsp white miso paste
1 tsp onion powder ( bulk area)
1/2 tsp garlic powder ( bulk area)
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (bulk area)
1 tsp savory spice blend:
2 TBL nutritional yeast ( bulk area)
1 TBL onion powder (bulk area)
1 TBL dried parsley (bulk area)
1 TBL dried basil (bulk area)
2 tsp dried thyme (bulk area)
2 tsp garlic powder ( bulk area)
2 tsp dried mustard ( bulk area)
2 tsp paprika (bulk area)
1/2 tsp ground turmeric (bulk area)
1/2 tsp celery seeds ( bulk area)
