To create an awareness of the library and its functions, promote knowledge of its needs, develop public support for increased library service and foster a public relations program.
The Friends of the CBPL have been actively supporting the library since 1976. Through various fundraising efforts, including the Bookstore and used book sales, the Friends sponsor all of the library's youth programs, many of the library's adult programs, and supplement the library budget.
Friends Bookstore
The Friends of the Coos Bay Public Library have their own bookstore staffed by Friends volunteers. The bookstore can be accessed through the library lobby.
Bookstore hours are Wednesday – Saturday, 12:00pm – 5:30p.m.
