Week Calendar

Return or pick up library materials every Friday in front of the Eastside Fire Department.

Meet other parents or caregivers and learn songs, rhymes, and early literacy tips.  Geared towards kids 0-14 months and an adult parent or caregiver.  Be prepared for an explosion of cuteness.

Join us for another hands-on food activity with the Oregon State University Extension Services Food Hero program. Participants will learn basic kitchen skills such as following recipes, use of kitchen tools and measuring ingredients.

Pickup or drop off library materials in front of the Empire Fire Station.

Book Brunch is a book club devoted to reading, unrestricted by genre, plus, of course, brunch! Each month we will read a book, then meet the second Saturday of the next month for waffles, orange juice, coffee etc., and a chat.

North Bend and Coos Bay Middle and High School Battle of the Books teams will compete for bragging rights in a meet moderated by the mayors of each city.  The event is free and open to the public.

A class for beginners learning how to raise chickens. Topics will include starting chicks, hens & egg laying, nutrition, housing, common ailments & fixes, resources, and possibly raising meat chickens if time allows.

For kids and tweens grades 4-8

The Read+Craft Club will meet to talk about books and work on a related craft the first Tuesday of every month from 3:30-4:30pm. The club is geared towards students in grades 4-6; participate in one or all of the discussions.

For ages 14-adult

This session is on Zoom!

Program is for those who wish to practice their Spanish conversational skills and help other learners in a friendly setting.

Games, pizza, crafts, and music for teens ages 12-18.  This month, we'll be constructing Peeps Dioramas.  Come and hang out with other teens!
