Dungeons & Dragons One Shot

The night is quiet, slowly everything has been winding down.

Night sky embracing the long tired eyes as the stars glimmer across the sky.

A long day of travel, past the Skogtroll Bridge that connects the Golden Elderberry Wilds and the Winderhurst Woods.

You've finally found a spot to rest, just outside of the beaten path, nuzzled and safe. 

These woods providing shelter from the winds and camp gets set up.

Warmth found in some hearty cooked food, not the usual rations that you've been surviving on.

Watch turns have been assigned, and the eyes can no longer hold steady.

One by one you all go to sleep, taking turns in waking up to keep an eye on everyone.

But there is nothing, this is a peaceful night, just the sound of distant waters.

The embers of the fire have died down and there is but a lingering warmth left from the pit.

Bundled up and resting in the outskirts of the traveled path you and your party rest.

That is until you hear it.

Loud roars, to the untrained ear it would sound as one, but no, there are three roars, in unison.

Then rustling, fast movement of not just something running through the forest, but a lot of things.

You and the entire party jolt up as woodland critters start rushing towards you.

As you see this stamped making its way to you.
