The library will be closed Thursday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

Regular open hours will resume on Friday, July 5th.

Event Details

Join the Coos Bay Public Library’s genre book club, Swords & Starships, with other fans of Science Fiction and Fantasy to partake in rousing conversation with some good company. The next gathering of Swords & Starships will be July 8th (Wednesday) @ 5:00 PM on Facebook Live.

This month, we celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride with Pride Heroes, where we read and discuss Science Fiction novels with a protagonist who is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Here are four novels that fit the theme:

Dreadnought by April Daniels

Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee

The Last 8 by Laura Pohl

An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon

Read any of these books or another novel along the same theme.
