Event Details

Coos Bay Library and Roseburg VA Health Care System are proud to present this powerful, emotional 2008 documentary by Meg McLagen and Darie Somers which shares, for the first time, the hidden history of female support soldiers known a Lionesses. These soldiers were part of the first women in American history sent into direct ground combat, fighting in some of the bloodiest counterinsurgency battles of the Iraq war, returning home as part of this country’s first generation of female combat veterans. Event will include special guest appearance of original Lioness, Jessica Miller, who was partnered with one of the women from this film.

A discussion will be held after the viewing. Refreshments will be provided. You are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch. Event is FREE!
