Burning red mountains dancing in front of y’all as you feel the waves of heat crashing onto your spirits.

This western air, dry and warm, makes you question why you’re even here.

Eroding your will to go on and deafening your sanity.

Veils of dust layer around you, brought in by the same wind that doesn’t allow for you to breathe in ease.

Clouding your sight, making it impossible to differentiate which direction you’re headed to.

Feeling like a fish left out of water, disoriented and aching.

Y’all check your water rations and realize that they’ve all gone dry.

Exhaustion begins to grab a hold of you, leaving you to dry out in this lonesome desert.

The dust begins to settle, from afar you see a silhouette of sanctuary.

Your knees and weight giving in as you succumb to the heat.

The last thing you see before it all fades to black.

A man on a horse gallops their way towards you in a hurry.

Kicking back up the dust that had just settled.
