Are you new to Geocaching?  Would you like to return to Geocaching and learn the current technology? Have you been caching for a little while but want to pick up some additional tips?

Come join South Coast Geocachers of Oregon for Geocaching 101.

This class is an introduction to the fun, high-thrill hobby of Geocaching to the community.

We'll spend time understanding the basics and then explore ways to test your newly acquired skills.

Team up with experienced cachers who will share their knowledge and stories from the field and help guide you on your way.

Geocaching 101 will cover the following:

  • A brief history of geocaching
  • An explanation of cache types and useful terms
  • An introduction to GPS and satellite technology
  • How to use www.geocaching.com and Geocaching apps
  • Setting up your geocaching account and logging your caches
  • Hands-on demonstrations with different types of geocaches you could discover while Geocaching

This class will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm in the Myrtlewood Room at the Coos Bay Library.
