Event Details

The Coos Bay Public Library is teaming up with South Coast Together to offer a workshop on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on April 19 and a follow-up training with Self-regulation and Resilience on May 17.
The 1998 CDC/Kaizer study of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) led to new understandings of the links between abuse, neglect, and dysfunction in childhood and health outcomes including asthma, lowered immunity, heart disease, and elevated risks of cancer and early death. The program on April 19th, Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities, will focus on ACEs and their effects. On May 17th, Self-Regulation and Resilience explores strategies for self-care and the tools for building resilience.

The events will be a hybrid of live and virtual, with limited space available at the library, and virtual attendance via Zoom.
