Pushing the Limits - reading, viewing and discussion series
The library will host a free four-part reading, viewing and discussion series for adults called Pushing the Limits. Pushing the Limits brings together books and video featuring authors, scientists and everyday people who thrive on exploring the natural world.
The first program will be March 28, 2017 at 7pm in the Myrtlewood Room. The focus will be on the book The Land of Painted Caves by Jean Auel and an anthropology focused discussion "Passing the Torch, Knowledge through the Generations" with Denise Wilms. The first 10 people who register for the programs receive a free copy of the book. Stop by the circulation desk to register.
Join friends and neighbors for an evening of discovery. This series will focus on a variety of topics. Documentaries of current social and cultural relevance will be screened.
The series is held once a month on the 4th Mondays. Programs begin at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:40.
Monday, March 27th NOSTALGIA FOR THE LIGHT
In Chile's Atacama Desert, astronomers peer deep into the cosmos in search for answers concerning the origins of life. Nearby, a group of women sift through the sand searching for body parts of loved ones, dumped unceremoniously by Pinochet's regime.
Come join us March 28 and get them answered! Our panel will host a city official, small business expert, and two local small business owners all answering questions from the audience about their experience.
